Aosta Valley is an Alpine valley that represents an autonomous region in the North-Western Italy. Covering an area of 3,260 kilometers squared and with a population of about 125,666, it is the smallest, and the least densely populated region of Italy. It is the only Italian region that is not divided into provinces. The Regional capital is Aosta. The region has two native languages: Italian and French, even though the valley is in Italy. This is because it is a small border region, it is on the Italian – France border.
