How does our society treat older people?

In the old days, elderly people were the most respected people in our society, but nowadays, with the change in the rules of raising children and the children's attitudes towards society, the viewpoint towards older people has changed. Seniors in our society are treated irresponsibly and rudely. For instance, these days a very small proportion of young people give up their seats on public transport, but in the past, this nice gesture towards old people was one of the most important things among the younger generation. Also, these days kids in school are treating more senior teachers disrespectfully and that is the reason why students do not choose the ability to be teachers. The reasons behind these sudden changes might be a few, but the most important are parenting and good example in the family. In my opinion, what role models children see in childhood is how they treat others, especially older people.
On the other hand, it is not only the younger generation’s fault. Many people my age have come across disrespectful, rude elderly people...
