Homework (monologue)

The topic of my individual talk is homework.

Today I would like to compare and contrast these two pictures, which depict the completion of homework.

To start with, in both pictures we see people studying, perhaps doing homework. The first picture shows a little girl doing her homework all alone, only the cat near her. She looks calm and focused on her homework. It seems that homework is quite interesting and effortless to her. In the second picture, we see two people doing homework, perhaps mom helping her son with his homework. They both look stressed besides they both look confused, not knowing how to do tasks. These pictures have certain simillarities, for example that in both pictures people are doing homework, sitting at the table, but their differences are more apparent. In the first picture a girl looks quite younger, whereas in the second picture the boy looks older. Finally, the homework might be more complicated and harder to the boy in the second picture than a girl in a first picture, perhaps because of that, a teenager boy needs help from more mature and smarter person and the young girl doesn‘t.

The next thing I would like to talk about how I agree with the statement that homework can contribute to the development of time management and study skills in students. Firstly, it instills a sense of responsibilty as students learn to allocate time for various subjects and assignments, fostering effective time managment habits. Secondly , by engaging with homework, students practise self\directed learning, honing their study skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the material.
