3. business trips.
My aim was to analyse export tourism in Lithuania. The main goals were:
◦ to choose a few travel agencies;
◦ to find and describe the most popular itineraries;
◦ to compare customers’ point of view and agencies’ as well;
◦ to make conclusions.
According to the Statistics Department of Lithuania this year in the I st quarter went abroad 274, 5 thousand Lithuanian tourists (1, 6% less than 2006 I quarter), that would be about 340 thousand times. But there is a big difference between individual and group iteneraries. Most individual iteneraries were to :
◦ Germany – 15, 9 %
◦ Belarus – 14, 2 %
◦ Poland – 11, 3 %
◦ Russia – 10, 5 %
◦ Latvia – 8, 5 %
Lithuanians who went abroad only for one day were two times more than tourists who went for a few days or so.
Statistics Department reported that in 2007 I st quarter nearly 43, 7 thousand people bought holiday from tourism agencies.
In 2007 I st quarter went about 22, 8 thousand Lithuanians went to European countries ( it is about 52, 1% of all tourists), it is about 6, 2% less than in 2006 I st quarter. To European Union countries went 15, 4 thousand Lithuanian tourists. The most popular country was Italy, about 5, 1 thousand people. In the second place were African countries 18, 6 thousand tourists, it is 70, 2 % more than in 2006 I st quarter.
According to the bank of Lithuania Lithuanian tourists in 2007 I st quarter spent abroad 1312, 7 million Litas.

I have chosen, in my way of thinking, at the moment very popular travel agencies in Lithuania:

These agencies are selling almost the same holiday packages to the same holiday resorts. Most popular itineraries are:
• Italy
• Turkey
• Egypt

• 7 – 14 days...
