In the last few decades, there have been more and more cases of famous people being hounded by the press. Some people think that famous personas in the media have no right to privacy and can therefore be observed by the public eye 24/7. Some even think that when one becomes a celebrity, they instantly have to be treated like super-human and lose the right of having their private life.
Television journalism has degraded significantly over the years to become more of an entertainment outlet. Some news sources now are a place where people can get a close view of what happened in so and so's back yard or party rather than be informed of impending disasters and vital news events. In my opinion, it is more important to spread more awareness about the issues on hand and not the ones, that might attract more eyes because of a "shocking" photo or video being shown on screen.
