Advantages and disadvantages of social media

• Nowadays, there have been heated debates concerning social media’s impact on our society. Since modern techonologies have drastically evolved, now it has become a huge part of our everyday life. Today I am going to look through the main advantages and disadvantages of social networking and provide a logical conclusion.
• To begin with, the benefits of social media are plentiful. First of all, social networking sites spread information faster than any other media. There are millions of people using social media platforms therefore, it’s a great oppurtunity to spread awareness about serious recent events. Moreover, through social media you have a direct connection with people. Every one of us can easily connect with our relatives, friends or family, that way it is easier to communicate for business purposes or for any other reasons. Last but not least, social media sites improve students’ academic performance. Various reports show that 60% of students use social media to discuss educational topics and 50% use the sites to talk about school assignments as a result, by engaging social networking in learning process, students’ achievements such as grades and test results are enhanced.
